Let's see what Larisa tells about her inspiration: "What about New Year mood? I will inspire you with a delicious layout. A cup of hot chocolate is one of the best ways to keep warm on cold days, indulge yourself in incredible pleasure and create a festive mood.
It was hot chocolate that inspired me to make this project. Hot chocolate is two thousand years older than coffee and almost a thousand years older than tea: first information about this drink made from cocoa beans dates back to 770 BC. NS. - it was made in one of the ancient Chinese scrolls. A legend that is closer to us in time says: Europe learned the taste of chocolate in the 16th century thanks to the Spanish general Hernan Cortez. His detachment landed in 1519 on the coast of Mexico. At the feast, the Aztecs treated the arriving guests to a cold whipped thick cocoa bean drink with vanilla, hot pepper and spices, serving it in golden bowls. The Aztecs called this drink "chocolatl". The word chocolate comes from the Aztec chocolatl - "chocolate". The Indians considered it a source of wisdom and masculine strength. The Aztec leader Montezuma II drank a large amount of chocolatl a day, which "rejuvenated the body and enlightened the mind."
In 1527, General Cortez brought to Spain not only cocoa beans, but also a method of making chocolatl. Everything related to chocolate became a state secret of the Spanish kingdom, for its violation more than 80 people were executed. The chocolate was prepared by Jesuit monks. They gradually changed the recipe: they began to add honey and vanilla to grated cocoa beans, abandoned chili peppers and came up with heating the drink for better solubility of its ingredients. So the chocolate became hot, and it turned out that it tastes better being cooked this method.
It's great that our collections are compatible with each other. In this work, I have combined the collection WINTER BOTANICAL DIARY and OUR WARM CHRISTMAS.
Layering in the work was created by lifting the layers of scrap paper onto the thick cardstock, adding die cuts and cut outs. Cinnamon sticks added flavor to the page, and real cones, Christmas balls and berries made it dynamic.
Thank you for your attention. Happy crafting!"
