I’ve been wishing a long time to make a cookbook for myself, not only because I wanted to do it and because I had the ideal paper collection for it, but also because I really needed it.
If I show you my recipe books that are years and years old, and that are totally worn out by use, with oil stains, cocoa and more ingredients ...
Well, what I was clear fr om the beginning is that I wanted a nice, simple, practical and manageable recipe book. So I gathered the materials that I was going to need, these are: blank sheets of paper 15cm wide by 21cm high, 2 cartons of the same dimensions, a spiral to bind and I chose some of the sheets of the paper collection 'Soul Kitchen' by Fabrika Decoru
The first thing I did was line the cards. I covered the cardboard on the cover with one of the papers in the collection, and the plywood with a plain black binding material. I could have used another of the papers in the collection, but I wanted to make use of this material that had been saved months ago and could not find the occasion.
And once lined front and back cover, they were like this ...
For the interior of both I used the paper of the collection that is a red vichy squares, and I think it contrasts wonderfully
Both the cover and the inner sheets were stamped with the ‘Cinch’ binder
But, the back cover that I had covered with that material that I mentioned earlier had become very thick and did not fit through the groove of the tool, so I was forced to make the holes manually.
To do this I took as a template the cover that was already stamped and I marked with a pencil on the back cover wh ere I would have to make the holes...
And then, with the crop-a-tell, I started making the holes one by one
Once this
was done, all that was left was the binding with the spiral ...
... and the decoration.
Of course, as I said at the beginning, one of my main objectives was that my cookbook was practical and manageable, so I had no intention of overloading it with decoration. So I cut a couple of ellipses on some of the paper scraps, cut one of the cutouts in the collection and complemented with a couple of die-cuts from the collection
And that’s all!
I am very happy with my new recipe book. I really needed a lot
Thank's for reading. See you next time!
